Veteran's Tax Credit 

The Town of Rindge offers 4 types of Veteran's Tax Credits:
  1. An optional veterans tax credit of $500 per year (RSA 72:28).
  2. An all-veterans tax credit of $500 per year (RSA 72:28-b).
  3. A $4,000 credit per year for veterans with service-connected total disability (RSA 72:35). 
  4. A surviving spouse credit of $700 per year (RSA 72:29-a)
In order to qualify, all applicants must own and occupy the dwelling and must have lived in the State of New Hampshire for at least one year preceding April 1st. Once the application has been accepted, it is considered permanent. There is a renewal form mailed every 5 years to confirm that the veteran or spouse still lives at the same address. Please note that Veterans' credits cannot be combined. 

When and How to Apply: The Town will accept the application anytime after receipt of the 2nd half of the property tax bill due in December and before April 15th of the year filing. To apply, please fill out the first page of form PA-29 (linked below) and bring or mail both pages of the form and a copy of your DD-214 that states you have been honorably discharged to the Assessing Clerk. Once the application has been processed, the Assessing Clerk will shred the DD-214 or call you to request that it be picked up.
